Saw this yesterday on Rue Faubourg-St. Honore, how could I resist? Taken with my Nex 3 and 50mm Jupiter-8. Nice combination of camera and lens and it even fits in my coat pocket.
Ahhhh, something new for a change. Instead of pulling another gem out of last year’s photos (which I really haven’t made much of a dent in processing), I thought I’d put up my new favourite picture. Took my daughter on the bus (her new favourite activity) down to the Louvre. We walked across Pont du Carousel and she became enamoured with all the locks. While she played, I took some pictures. I liked the silhouette from the sun, but it wasn’t till I got home that I realized the sun makes it look like the light is illuminated, fantastic. Sort of wish I took the shot when the lady was on the other side of the post, but maybe it still works, either way I love it and that’s what counts.
Well, it used to be called Photo of Week, but it seemed a bit misleading as the pictures weren’t always taken that week. Anyways, I like the new name so who cares?
I took this photo at Buttes Chaumont, a large park in the 19th arrondissment in Paris. This man made waterfall and cavern are always a great location for a photo, so I went with my NEX-3 and Holga lens attached. I was very excited on arrival to see this strange man at the base of the falls. He was madly sweeping back and forth in the water with a large stick, oblivious to anyone else in the cavern. I took a long exposure which not only blurred the water but gave him a ghostly effect. This combined with the Holga lens’ soft picture and vignette, gave an awesome picture indeed.
